The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser V8

Available from early 2008, the all new Land Cruiser V8 is the outstanding new flagship model of the Toyota vehicle range representing the eighth generation of the car currently known as Amazon.

Retaining the world-beating offroad capability of its predecessors but adding more refinement, comfort and driving pleasure the V8 is built on a completely redesigned platform powered by a brand new 4.5 V8 twin turbo diesel engine with a new 6 speed automatic transmission.

The V8 power unit develops an amazing 650Nm of torque between 1600 and 2800rpm and 286 DIN hp at 3600 rpm. As a result, V8 is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 8.2 seconds. Despite the power of the V8 engine, fuel consumption has been improved by 4% compared to the current Amazon 4.2 TD V6 engine and, as you would expect, the new, refined engine is fully compliant with Euro IV emissions regulations.

The new model will also feature a wide range of advanced safety features such as the newly developed Multi Terrain Anti-lock Brake System, Vehicle Stability Control, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and 12 airbags. With outstanding off road capability and dramatically improved on road handling and refinement.

Land Cruiser V8 features a host of advanced, new technologies to confirm its reputation as a genuine, go-anywhere off-road vehicle. For example:-

• The world first 4-Wheel Active Height Control and Adaptive Variable Suspension (4W AHC & AVS), which links all four wheels’ suspension system for the first time and also provides a new spring rate control system. 
• A newly developed centre Torsen® Limited Slip Differential (LSD). 
• Hill-start Assist Control. 
• Downhill Assist Control.
