Accident Management Programme

Few people have more than one accident every six years, which means that most people are unaware of how to manage the post accident process with the least inconvenience. At the Toll House Group we are able to help you navigate through the maze.  We have set out below the steps you might expect in your journey with us. 

At the scene of the accident, you should obtain as many of the following details from the driver(s) of any other vehicle(s) involved in your collision. 

1.      Name, address and phone number

2.      Vehicle registration number, make and model

3.      Exact damage and the location of the damage

4.      Insurance company and policy number

5.      Name, address and phone number of any witnesses

6.      A plan of the accident scene and, if you have a camera with a phone, some photographs 

As soon as possible following an accident, call our Accident Management Team on 0845 634 9219. 

Information you should know

Following an accident for which you were not to blame, you are entitled to make a claim against the at fault driver’s insurer to be put back into the position that you were in immediately before the accident occurred. This means that you have the right to replacement transport, to have your vehicle repaired to its pre-accident condition, to claim compensation for any loss in the value of your vehicle arising from the accident damage and to make a claim for personal injury, together with any out-of-pocket expenses.  We can advise and assist you with claiming these losses.  

We organise your repairs

We will book your vehicle into our repair centre in order that the damage can be assessed or, if you prefer, we can arrange a visit to your home or place of work, so that the cost to repair your vehicle can be established. Insurers may suggest to you that you should use another repairer, though naturally, their primary aim will be to minimise the costs of the repair.  A repair with cost as the primary focus could result in the future value of your vehicle being compromised and, as you are probably aware, under the terms and conditions of your insurance policy, you should be entitled to have repairs carried out at the repairer of your choice. 

We provide you with a replacement vehicle, delivered to you

If we are satisfied that another identifiable party was at fault for the accident, we will arrange to provide you with a replacement vehicle for the period that you cannot use your vehicle where it is repairable or up to 7 days after the date of receipt of the settlement payment if it is a total loss.  The cost for providing the vehicle will be recovered from the insurer of the at fault driver. The vehicle will be delivered at a time and location convenient for you.  Even if the accident is your fault, providing that you have registered to the Accident Management Programme (subject to terms and conditions), we may be able to provide you with a vehicle for up to 21 days free of charge. 

Insurance Protection

For your added protection and peace of mind, you will be covered by a free of charge insurance policy which (subject to the terms and conditions of the policy) covers you against the charges for the provision of the replacement hire vehicle.  We will provide you with further details of this insurance policy before we deliver a car to you. 

You collect your repaired vehicle

Once repairs to your vehicle are complete, we will contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to collect your vehicle. 

Once you have your vehicle back

We will speak to you to confirm that you are happy with the service we provided and that everything is to your satisfaction.
